MUMBAI: Ranbir Kapoor has his diary booked till almost the end of next year. With nearly six films slated for release in the next two years (‘Besharam’, ‘Bombay Velvet’, ‘Roy’, ‘Jagga Jasoos’, Imtiaz Ali’s next and Ayan Mukerji’s next), Ranbir is in huge demand.
But looks like the actor has made one thing clear. If producers want to sign him for their projects, big or small, they must be willing to shell out Rs 15 Crores.
Yes Rs 15 Crores is what Abhinav Kashyap (director Besharam) and debutant Vicky Singh (for a special appearance in ‘Roy’) have paid to Ranbir Kapoor.
Riding high on his successes with his fantastic performances in ‘Barfi’ and ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ (both, where he apparently has charged Rs 8 Crores), Ranbir Kapoor had already planned his fee-hike.
Be it a special appearance in ‘Roy’ alongside the lead, Arjun Rampal, or a full-fledged 100 day schedule of ‘Besharam’, where he plays the lead. Incidentally Ranbir also demands a share from the profits from his films, like Aamir Khan, who started the trend with ‘3 Idiots’.
With all of Ranbir Kapoor’s films having made bumper money at the box-office, it’s a jackpot cracked for Ranbir. No wonder that the lad is collaborating with director Anurag Basu and co-producing ‘Jagga Jasoos’ under the banner ‘Picture Shuru Productions’ (Read Story).
Now that’s what we call putting what you earn back into the business. Pretty smart! But does fixing the price tag at Rs 15 Crores and a share of profits mean that Ranbir will be selective about his projects? Like a true businessman!
