MUMBAI: ‘Chennai Express’ is truly going places. Shah Rukh Khan and the entire team have been on rounds of the country and abroad promoting ‘Chennai Express’. But there is more good news awaiting SRK’s NRI fan base.

With a few days left for the film to release, it’s now been confirmed that ‘Chennai Express’ will now release in 700 screens outside the subcontinent. This is the biggest opening for a Shah Rukh Khan film post ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’, which opened in 600 screens outside the subcontinent.

A source from UTV has said, “The week is busy for international releases with Eid and mid-term holidays coinciding. Yet we have managed to get such a large number of screens to ensure wider reach. It is releasing in over 50 countries, including some non-international traditional markets like Peru, Morocco, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and Israel.”

Considering that Shah Rukh Khan has a fan base in UK and European territory it’s justified that fans also get to ride on the ‘Chennai Express’.

Incidentally the release in Peru will be on the same day as ‘Chennai Express’ releases in India on 9 August.

‘Chennai Express’ also stars Deepika Padukone in the lead. The film is produced by Shah Rukh Khan and Red Chillies Entertainment and distributed worldwide by UTV Motion Pictures.  It will hit theatres worldwide on 9 August.
