MUMBAI: Rajkumar Hirani’s record breaking film 3 Idiots and R Balki’s Paa bagged top honors at the FICCI-Frames Excellence awards.
3 Idiots won the Most Successful Film of the Year award with Hirani receiving the award for the Best Director of the Year. On the other hand, Amitabh Bachchan bagged the award for Best Actor for his performance in Paa.
Actress Vidya Balan bagged the Best Actor of the Year – Female award for her performance in Paa.
Shah Rukh Khan received the Global Entertainer of the Year award, whereas A R Rahman received the Global Icon of the Year award.
Khan said, "I am extremely happy. It is good to know that I have received award for being a global entertainer. But still there is a long way to go. I love to entertain people through my films and I will continue to do so."
Ranbir Kapoor won the Best Entertainer award for his performance in films like Wake Up Sid, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Rocket Singh – Salesman of the Year.
Music director Pritam was presented the Best Music Director award for Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal.
