GOA: UTV Motion Pictures’ Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! and Mumbai Mantra’s Sorry Bhai released in Mumbai and all across India on Friday.
Multiplexes in the Mumbai suburbs from Dadar towards the north of the city commenced their operations from Friday morning onwards. If sources are to be believed, the audience response is extremely poor. The number of patrons watching the movies is almost negligible.
However, multiplexes in South Mumbai remain closed on Friday too. The operations of these properties are subject to the law and order situation.
Considering that Mumbai city is the earning hub for movies, it will not be wrong to say that the fate of these movies at the box office is in the red. The movies have opened to a poor response in Mumbai on Friday and will pick up only marginally on Saturday and Sunday.
Ramesh Sippy Entertainment’s The President Is Coming, which was also scheduled for release on Friday has been postponed to a later date.
