Aamir Khan on International jury of 61st Berlin Film Festival

MUMBAI: Actor Aamir Khan has been invited to be on the jury of the 61st Berlin Film Festival, which takes place in February.
The International Jury, presided over by Isabella Rossellini, will decide who is to take home the Golden Bear and the Silver Bears as well as the Alfred Bauer Prize in the Competition of the 61st Berlinale.
The other members of the jury are director Jafar Panahi, producer Jan Chapman, actress Nina Hoss, director Guy Maddin and costume designer Sandy Powell. 
The Berlin Film Festival will feature 22 films in its main programme including 16 in the running for the festival’s prizes. The 
The International Jury considers only films in the Competition section and awards the festival’s main prizes namely the Golden Bear for the Best Film (awarded to the film’s producer); the Jury Grand Prix; the Award for Best Director; the Award for Best Actress; the Award for Best Actor; the Award for Best Script; the Award for an Outstanding Artistic Achievement in the categories camera, editing, score, costumes or set design and the Alfred Bauer Prize – in memory of the festival founder – for a feature film that broadens the horizons of the art of filmmaking.
The 61st Berlin Film Festival will be held from 10 – 20 February, 2011.
