MUMBAI: 3 Idiots has broken yet another record. The Aamir Khan starrer has become the highest grossing Hindi film in North America dethroning Shah Rukh Khan’s Om Shanti Om.
3 Idiots has so far grossed $6 million in North America and has beaten Om Shanti Om’s record lifetime collections of $3.6 million by more than an arm’s length in just two weeks.
Directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, 3 Idiots has now become the first Hindi movie to cross the $4 million mark in North America.
The movie has also broken all records of Aamir’s previous movies in North America. While Ghajini grossed $2.5 million, Fanna did a business of $2.4 million in its entire theatrical run.
