MUMBAI: Director duo Abbas-Mastan’s forthcoming venture Race will boast a galaxy of Bollywood stars, including Anil Kapoor who will be paired with Sameera Reddy, Akshaye Khanna opposite Bipasha Basu and Saif Ali Khan with Katrina Kaif.
Akshaye and Saif will be working together for the first time after the 2001 hit Dil Chahta Hai. In the new film, they play brothers and have radically different roles. The film will roll shortly.
Say the directors, “It is an interesting combination and each actor has his or her own magical moments at the box-office. A newer combination holds interest at the box-office. Except for Akshaye and Saif, all the other stars are working together for the first time.”
Abbas Mustan’s earlier film Humraaz got Bobby Deol and Akshaye Khanna together, while recently, the duo has been repeated in the forthcoming Naqab. For their other completed venture, Mr Fraud, Abbas-Mustan have zeroed in on Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgan, with Bipasha Basu providing the female lead.
