MUMBAI: He has often been caught in a dates clash between two films. But now he has to deal with a clash of looks! That’s just the dilemma which Abhishek Bachchan faces at the moment regarding two of his films that are to go on the floors simultaneously.
For Rohit Shetty’s Bol Bachchan, which is a remake of Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s 1979 hit comedy Gol Maal, Abhishek has to discard his cool-dude act and get into the Simple Simon act, plump up the kilos and become blissfully unfashionable, a la Amol Palekar in the 1979 film.
However, for Rajkumar Santoshi’s Ladies & Gentlemen, where Abhishek plays a Casanova, a la his dad in Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Jurmana, Abhishek needs to get into the coolest shape and togs. He has to lose weight and wear the best clothes from the best international designers that money can buy.
Now, the dilemma being faced by Abhishek is how to achieve this transition from Khadi to Armani without any pause for breath! Both Bol Bachchan and Ladies & Gentleman are slated to be shot together.
A source tells Businessofcinema.com, “Rohit Shetty and Rajkumar Santoshi’s films require completely contrasting looks from Abhishek. The last time he changed his appearance for a role was Mani Ratnam’s Guru when he put on massive kilos to get into the character. However, that was the only film Abhishek was shooting at that time. The dilemma now is, how to shoot for two films that require a specific look, body-shape and personality from the actor?”
As per information available with this website, a solution is now being worked out.
