Tulip, who had a dream debut with Yashraj film in ‘Meri Yaar Ki Shaadi’, followed it up with ‘Dil Maange More’ and the critically acclaimed ‘Mathrubhumi’. She will be donning a glamorous avatar back again in ‘Hostel’ and ‘Shunya’ due to release soon.
But besides films, few are aware that Tulip used to excel in sports. Tulip used to be a state level sportswoman. She used to captain her school Maneckji Cooper and Mithibai College in volleyball and Handball. She absolutely proud of her medals and trophies. But though she is busy with shoots, she has taken a fancy to Beach Volleyball.
Besides, Tulip is water baby and revels in Sun-Sand-Surf. She is equally adept in free-style as well as breast-stroke. She maintains that the best swim of her life was in the Mediterranean Sea which was azure blue and heavenly.
Tulip is basically wanderlust and loves the south of France , Nice and Monaco. She is in thrall and loves the beauty and architecture of Italy . She loves trekking the Alps in Italy as well as in Shimla and the Sahyadri ranges.
And though the petite beauty of Gujarati-Armenian descent appears soft in her outwardly appearance, she is tough as nails. Not surprising, since her sporting background and being a health freak. She unfailingly does her 50 Surya Namaskars everyday..
Tulips only wish is that the government would have more facilities for sportsmen, so that she too could have continued her sporting career.
Says Tulip ” It’s so sad that it’s so difficult to even think of making a career in sports in India besides cricket. I would love to see India develop as a Sporting Nation and win more medals at the Olympics: Tulip philosophy is to live life to the fullest and experience everything life has to offer.
No doubt, Tulip has such an all round personality !!
