Adlabs’ Cash release postponed to 3 August

MUMBAI: The impending judgment on the on-going court case on Adlabs’ Cash is finally out. The release of the film has been postponed by a week. The film, which was due for release this week (27 July), will finally release next week on 3 August.

Moreover, the dispute over the title of the film with producer Sohail Maklai has also been passed in favour of director Anubhav Sinha and the movie’s name will not be changed.

Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, Adlabs COO Sunir Khetrapal says, “The film was censored today and will release on 3 August now.”

Sinha, who was present at the censor screening when Businessofcinema.com contacted him, added. “The court has ordered to release the film as soon we like.”

The film has been given a U/A certificate without any cuts and the censor certificate will be delivered tomorrow.

“Since we are releasing the film one week later than planned, it will not have its planned two week run at theatres. Cash will have a one week run before Chak De! India releases on 10 August. We will have to pump in extra money in the coming 10 days for the promotion of the film,” Sinha says.

With this development, Cash will see a release with Anil Kapoor Films Company’s maiden production venture Gandhi – My Father and BR Films’ coloured version of Naya Daur.
