Gangsters threatening Bollywood nabbed

MUMBAI: Singer turned actor Himesh Reshammiya and director Raj Kumar Santoshi, who have been getting extortion calls for some months now, can heave a sigh of relief.

Four aides of the international gangster Eijaz Lakhdawala were arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) of the Uttar Pradesh police. The criminals were nabbed by the STF as per the information given by the police.

Four revolvers, one mobile phone and a SUV were found on the gangsters.

Gang leader Anees Radiowala along with three of his henchmen — Namdev, Mohammad Rahim Khan and Irshad Warsi — all residents of Mumbai, were arrested this morning when they were looking for weapons to attack Reshammiya and Santoshi.

Apparently Radiowala admitted that he is an agent of Lakdawala in India and explained their plans step by step.

While Reshamiya was unavailable for comment, Santoshi told Businessofcinema.com, “I watched the news on television. I don’t think I am in danger, but I have police protection 24/7.”

Both had received threatening calls three months ago. A gangster had been planted as a participant on the talent hunt show to attack the singer, but the plan failed as he didn’t qualify for the finals.
