Adlabs offers Rs 300 mn film deal to Hrithik

MUMBAI: Manmohan Shetty’s Adlabs Films has offered actor Hrithik Roshan a whopping Rs 300 million (Rs 30 crores) for three films.

According to sources close to the development, while Adlabs is holding out the greenbacks to the superhero, the negotiations are still on between the two. Sources also reveal that it is likely that the deal will be signed.

What’s more, Adlabs will dole out the entire amount of Rs 30 crores on the signing table itself.

The deal, if it goes through, would be for three films to be made in a span of four-and-a-half years. Which means that there’ll be one film produced by Adlabs with Hrithik Roshan in the lead role every 18 months. If all goes per plan, the first film will be launched in 2008. Hrithik’s upcoming film Dhoom:2 is all set to release later this year and apart from that, he also has Akbar Jodha in his kitty.

Incidentally, the Q2 results of Adlabs was out a few days back and the company has booked a profit of Rs 204.64 million (Rs 20.464 crore) for the three months ended 30 September, 2006. This is almost twice the profit booked in Q1 – 2006 (Rs 120.62 million) and  more than thrice the profit booked during the Q2 2005 (Rs 62.86 million).
