After Apaharan, Jha’s readies Rajneeti

MUMBAI: Filmmaker Prakash Jha’s next film after Apaharan will be Rajneeti, which is based on the ironies of the political system in India.


 


According to sources close to the development, the movie will star Ajay Devgan, Nana Patekar and Shahid Kapur and will be shot in Jamshedpur and the US.


 


Jha, who has made critically-acclaimed films like Mrityudand, Gangajal and Apaharan says, “I have only finalized and the title of the film. I haven’t signed the star cast. However, talks are on with a few top actors.”


 


Rajneeti will capture the present day political system and ironies prevailing in the oldest democratic system. I believe in giving my audience something real and different. After every film of mine releases, eyebrows are raised and with Rajneeti, I am not expecting it not to happen. Mark my words, many people will raise their eyebrows,” says Jha.


 


Apart from Ajay Devgan, Nana Patekar and Shahid Kapur, talks are also on with Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi, Sunny Deol, Manoj Bajpai and Om Puri.
