MUMBAI: Ajay Devgn’s next film Atithi Tum Kab Jaaoge? is based on a short story, Tum Kab Jaaoge Atithi, penned by satirist Late Sharad Joshi. Devgn has acquired the rights of the story.
"What interested us most was the originality of the script. Based on a short story by Joshi, it is a refreshing and humorous take on something we have always faced in our lives – a guest that never leaves," says Warner Bros Picture India deputy managing director theatrical Denzil Dias.
Atithi Tum Kab Jaaoge? is the story about an unwanted guest who enters the household of a married couple and lives for a long duration by continuously extending his stay. So much so, that the couple is exasperated and starts praying for his exit. While Ajay Devgn and Konkona Sen play the part of a married couple, Paresh Rawal is the uninvited guest.
Directed by Ashwni Dhir, the film is produced by Warner Bros. Pictures India and Wide Frame Films.
To be shot over 50 days at Yash Raj Studios and other locales in Mumbai, the film is slated to release on 26 February 2010.
