MUMBAI: Akshaye Khanna seems to be the perennial favorite of director duo Abbas-Mastan. After a track record of films like Humraaz and 36 China Town, the yet untitled thriller directed by Abbas-Mastan from the house of Tips will also have Khanna in the lead. Tips’ Kumar Taurani will produce the film, which will also star Bobby Deol.
Khanna is considered as one of the better actors in the industry, who is selective about the films he does. His success ratio speaks for itself. From Taal, Border, Dil Chahta Hain, Dewangee, 36 Chinatown to Humraaz, Hulchul and Hungama, all have fared well at the box office.
Ramesh Taurani says, “I have signed Akshaye Khanna, Bobby Deol and newcomer Urvashi for my next film, which will be directed by Abbas-Mastan. The film is a romantic thriller and shooting for it began on 3 September. It will be shot in Mumbai and foreign locales. I haven’t finalized the budget yet.”
For the time being, Khanna’s next release – Mahatma v/s Gandhi – produced by Anil Kapoor is being awaited with bated breath. This will be followed by Nikhil Advani’s Salaam E Ishq. What’s more, Anil Kapoor has also signed on Khanna for his next venture.
