MUMBAI: Amitabh Bachchan returned to India on Monday night after completing his duties as the brand ambassador of the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) that were held in Macau. The actor will fly to London tonight (17 June) to complete the ultimate schedule of director R. Balki’s Paa.
Produced in partnership with AB Corp and Mad Films, Paa started in the first week of March this year across various locations of Mumbai. Thereafter the unit flew overseas for one schedule. Prior to the start of IIFA, a major chunk of the portion was shot between Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan who play parents to Amitabh Bachchan.
Mad Films head honcho Sunil Manchanda confirmed to Businessofcinema.com from London, "Yes we are here in London. Abhishek flew in to London directly from Macau, while Vidya finished a commitment in Toronto, before flying out here. Mr Amitabh Bachchan will be filming with us from Friday. The last day of our schedule is 24 June."
Prior to his departure, Amitabh Bachchan said, "I shall fly out tonight. As Abhishek and Ash are already there alongwith my daughter, Jaya will also fly out, so that we can have a small family reunion. With our busy schedules, stealing moments so that the family can be together, is really great."
When we complimented him on his look for the film, which was leaked out by CCC TV footage when the unit was shooting at a mall, Bachchan remarked rather sardonically, "Can anything be hidden with the media around?"
If all goes according to schedule, the film’s director, Balki would like to release the film around October, just in time to cash in on the festive season.
