MUMBAI: Amitabh Bachchan, who made his television debut with Kaun Banega Crorepati on Star Plus in 2000, is now back on the small screen as a host. After hosting two seasons of Kaun Banega Crorepati, he will be hosting the third season of Endemol’s reality show Bigg Boss on Colors.
The host for the first season of Bigg Boss was Arshad Warsi, which aired on Sony, while the second season was hosted by Shilpa Shetty on Colors. Bachchan will now take over from Shilpa Shetty for the third season.
Speaking to Businessofcinema.com Colors programming head Ashwini Yardi said, "Yes Mr. Bachchan is hosting Bigg Boss 3 and Colors has designed the role of a Pop Philosopher for him."
According to sources, the show is expected to go on air from October. However Yardi said, "We have yet to announce the date."
