MUMBAI: Numerous emotions are running rampant for actress Amrita Rao as she gears up for her first release of the year. Just a day away from her big release, she is in Kolkata for the promotion of her film, Victory. Directed by Ajitpal Mangat, the film has Harman Baweja in the lead.
Speaking to Businessofcinema.com from Kolkata, Rao said, "I was impressed by the narration of Ajit. He convinced me that this film would do justice to my potential. I have shot for 70 days for Victory in Sydney, Jaisalmer and Jaipur. The film has a high dosage of cricket but it is liberally laced with emotions, which should appeal to all of us as we love our films and cricket. And I have a good role."
However, in spite of her excitement, there are some apprehensions. Confided the actress, "People should not get the impression that it is a film on cricket. It is about the rise and fall and then subsequent rise of a normal boy next door. It is high on life and loving. Victory has a lot of international cricketers to add to the authenticity of the story. Come to the theatres to see a simple film, you will love it."
Amrita has another release in two months time, called Shortkut, which is produced by Anil Kapoor’s banner, wherein she will shed her girl next door image for something spicy and sexy.
