Amritraj’s Traitor climbs to No.5 at US box-office

Mumbai: Ashok Amritraj’s latest production Traitor has emerged a hit, climbing to the No.5 position at the US box-office in its second week run.

The thriller starring Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Said Taghmaoui, Neal McDonough and Jeff Daniels, has received rave reviews across America, while grossing nearly $20 million (which was almost the budget of the film) in the first two weeks itself.

"Paramount will release Traitor in India later this year, and I’m very excited about that," informed Amritraj. "The film will not only keep you right on the edge of your seat, but will also give you something to think about," he promised.

The film marks the feature directorial debut for Nachmanoff, who’d previously co-written the screenplay for The Day After Tomorrow.

Traitor is a contemporary international thriller set in the world of terrorism. It’s the story of an FBI investigator (Pearce) searching for a betrayer U.S. military operative (Cheadle) who holds the secret to a global conspiracy.
