MUMBAI: Studio 18 has teamed up with distributor Anil Thadani to release its forthcoming films.
Sources say that Thadani has an agreement to release all of Studio 18’s acquisitions and productions for the Bombay and Delhi-U P circuits, beginning with Amrit Sagar’s 1971, a war movie which will release on 9 March 2007.
Meanwhile, Thadani is set to release Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd (HTPL) on 23 February 2007 in Bombay. Inox, Metro Adlabs and Apsara are amongst the main cinemas in Mumbai earmarked for HTPL. The film’s producer Ritesh Sidhwani however, says that the film is being released by Studio 18 along with Thadani in Bombay, Delhi, UP, Rajasthan and some other circuits on 23 February.
Thadani has earlier released Rang De Basanti and Don and is credited with the release of Aditya Chopra’ Dilwale Dulhaniye Le Jayenge, which has entered its 592th week at the Maratha Mandir cinema in Mumbai, and is being screened in the matinee slot.
