MUMBAI: Anupam Kher’s acting school – Actor Prepares will host events at its studio in Mumbai (Santacruz West) every weekend. These shows will not only highlight the acting skills of the students, but also of the performers from across the city who are keen on displaying their talent in the performing arts. Kicking off the series will be a musical play, Romeo and Jenny, which will be performed by the students of Actor Prepares on 12 – 13 September.
It is a play which shows how the lives of actors rehearsing Romeo and Juliet are singed with reality when their production is recast. Among the plays scheduled in the coming weeks will be Kher’s Kuchh Bhi Ho Sakta Hai.
"I believe that acting, like any craft, can be taught, learnt and perfected. My interactions with the current crop of international directors like Danny Boyle or Ang Lee or Gurinder Chaddha, keeps me abreast of global trends that are emerging in world cinema and I pass on such knowledge to my students. I feel that these events will be a learning platform not only for my students but all the other talented people across the city," Kher said.
After opening branches of Actor Prepares in Chandigarh and Ahmedabad, Kher recently opened his school in London in association with Ealing Media School and Heathrow City Partnership.
