Ashtavinayak inks 3 film deal with Kareena

MUMBAI: With the Indian filmed entertainment space getting bigger and bigger with each passing day, corporates are now in a rush to sign on big actors and directors for bulk film deals.


While UTV Motion Pictures recently signed Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapur for a three and two film deal respectively; Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd has now roped in Kareena Kapoor for three films.


Plans are to complete the three films by the end of March 2009.


The shooting of first film, which will be the sequel to the company’s earlier film Golmaal… Fun Unlimited, is titled Golmaal Returns… Fun Unlimited. This will be directed by Rohit Shetty and shooting for the same will start in November this year.


The scripting of other two films, which will star Kapoor, is under process and will be finalised soon. The release date of the film will be announced at a later stage.


Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision had also inked a two year co-production deal worth Rs 1 billion (Rs 100 crore) in November last year with Studio 18 for four movies. Filmmakers that have been signed in this deal are Priyadarshan, Abbas-Mastan, Rohit Shetty and Neeraj Vora.
