MUMBAI: Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision is finalising multiple productions with directors like Sanjay Gadhvi, Imtiaz Ali, Sangeeth Sivan and Rohit Shetty.
After closing 2006 with the Priyadarshan directed Bhagam Bhaag and beginning 2007 with an initial public offering (IPO), Ashtavinayak is likely to begin the year with director Imtiaz Ali’s untitled film in Punjab. The film, to roll by mid-March, will feature Akshay Kumar, and Shahid Kapur and Kareena Kapoor in the romantic lead.
The next film is Sanjay Gadhvi’s venture, Kidnap, starring Sanjay Dutt and Imran Khan (nephew of actor Aamir Khan). Dutt is said to have agreed to play the role of an ageing father. Gadhvi had been toying with this script since the success of Dutt’s Lage Raho Munnabhai, but the film was kept on the back burner for want of Dutt’s dates.
Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision’s production head Dhawal Jethania confirms, “We are into many projects. We will let you know about them as soon as they get finalised.”
None of the directors are willing to speak about the projects just yet. “It is a dream project and only one actor has been finalised,” is all Gadhvi says.
