Pixion dresses Shoonya in D-format

MUMBAI: Shoonya, which screened recently at the 36th International Rotterdam film festival, had Pixion (a Mumbai based post-production facility) give it a digital format through the digital intermediate process.

Arindam Mitra’s Shoonya was one of the three films selected from India along with films by veteran filmmakers Girish Kasaravalli and Gautam Ghosh.

Says Pixion CEO Naresh Malik, “Shoonya was shot on the HDV format, which was converted digitally through the DI process at Pixion and transferred back to film for the cinema audience. The entire DI process took close to four weeks and was colour graded by Robert Lang, a film grade artist at Pixion.”

Shoonya, directed by Arindam Mitra, stars Tulip Joshi, Naseeruddin Shah, Kay Kay Menon, Seema Biswas, Satish Kaushik and Ninad Kamat. The story of the film revolves around a cricket star, Mahendra Naik and his tryst with fame and adulation.
