MUMBAI: B4U Music celebrates Lata Mangeshkar’s 80th birthday and as a tribute to Lata Mangeshkar on her birthday, B4U will be playing 80 of the most timeless classics rendered by her.
Mangeshkar is the recipient of prestigious Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour. She has sung songs in 20 regional languages. In 1974, The Guinness Book of Records listed Lata Mangeshkar as the most recorded artist in the history, stating that she had reportedly recorded "not less than 25,000 solo, duet and chorus backed songs in 20 Indian languages" between 1948 and 1974.
Her musical journey includes lending her voice to actresses’ like Madhubala in 1940s to Waheeda Rehmaan, Sadhna,in the 50’s &60’s to current actresses like Madhuri Dixit in Dil To Paagal hai and Preity Zinta in Veer Zaara.
B4U Music has an entire collection of her songs ranging from the 40’s to the latest block busters. To listen to the collection viewers can tune into B4U Music from Saturday, 26 September to Monday, 28 September at 7 am – 8 am and10 pm – 11 pm.
