Mumbai: Balaji Telefilms is considering legal action as Star plans to pull off Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhie Bahu Thi, which is Star Plus’ longest running show, from 10 November.
SGL Entertainment, which is a part of the Star Group, has issued a notice to Balaji Telefilms to terminate the show.
Balaji Telefilms is of the view that the termination is in breach of contractual obligations owed by the Star Group to the company and is pursuing all legal remedies available to it in relation to the same.
Balaji Telefilms’ Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii, which was also aired on Star Plus, was pulled off air earlier this month on 9 October. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhie Bahu Thi is one of six shows presently being produced by Balaji for the Star Group.
Star, which held a 25.99 per cent stake in Balaji, is selling the same and the two companies have also terminated their joint venture deal for regional language content.
