Bangalore is Inspired

MUMBAI: Vijay Mallya is a force to reckon with. And this business tycoon does not like to be in the loser’s seat ever. And perhaps that’s the reason Bangalore always registers a win whenever he is in the hospitality box, overseeing his business.

Two Sundays back, the dashing businessman had to fly out of the Rainbow country to be with his Formula One Team, Force India. Royal Challengers playing their match against Mumbai Indians were badly trounced. Mallya made a hasty retreat to be back with his team in South Africa and his boys came back from the dead to win two nail biting matches against Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings riding on Ross Taylor’s swashbuckling knock.

Even as the match against KKR came to a nail biting finish, the suave Mallya was seen taking a long swig from his beer glass, not a muscle twitching to portray his inner feelings. But one is certain, the team partied and partied hard.

Today is another important knock for the men in red and gold. A win here could once again bring them in contention for the semi final berth. With the captain and coach, Anil Kumble and Ray Jennings on song, Royal Chalengers will be brimming with energy as they take the field today. And not to forget the owner, Vijay Mallya, who will certainly be flamboyant with his appreciation should the notch a victory today.
