Bharat Shah to release Zamaanat on 3 Nov

MUMBAI: S. Raamanathan’s Zamaanat starring Amitabh Bachchan and Arshad Warsi, which will hit cinema screens on 3 November will be released by Bharat Shah in Bombay.

Currently Raamanathan is on a short visit to Bombay to finalise the release. “I will be releasing the film after Diwali. We are planning for 3 November release. Though the film took time to release, the film still looks fresh. What’s more, Amitabh Bachchan looks his age in every scene, whether as a lover boy or a senior lawyer. The delay in releasing has come as a blessing in disguise too. The status of Arshad Warsi has grown manifold after the mind-blowing success of Munnabhai M.B.B.S. and Lage Raho Munnabhai.”

Zamaanat is my seventeenth Hindi production and fifth with Amitabh Bachchan. I am close to Amitji and we share an emotional bond. He had worked earlier in Bombay To Goa, Mahaan, Geraftaar and Ganga Jamuna Saraswati,” he adds.

Speaking about the economics of the film, Raamanathan says, “In my filmmaking career, I have never made a small film. My films are big budgeted and made on a huge canvas. I am marketing it at a ratio of around Rs 20 million (Rs 2 crore) and I am also satisfied with the deals with all my distributors. Even the Yash Chopra camp is involved in distributing parts of Southern Circuits. They are happy with the product. It is their brewing confidence that takes me ahead.”

Bharat Shah adds, “We have good business arrangements and we are positively looking for an all India release on 3 November with a good number of prints.”

Raamanathan is also working on three more films currently.
