Mumbai: BIG TV DTH connection was set-up at Dropadi ka Danda in the premises of the Base Camp of the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) situated at 15,317 ft above sea level in the Mt. Everest.

A team of 24 members started the trek on 26 November, from Uttarkashi and reached the base camp braving three degree temperatures and snow storms and snow falls to reach the base camp on 30 November. The installation team was lead by chief installer, Kapil from BIG TV and the NIM team was lead by Satish from NIM.

"We are absolutely proud of our installation team. It is their never-say-die attitude and the willingness to brave all odds that has helped them achieve this task. While we have a widespread sales network across Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, it is the installation teams perseverance that has won the hearts of our customers. They have travelled long distances on foot to set up the BIG TV connections and the rewards are there to see. BIG TV today enjoys the biggest market share in both these states," said Reliance Communications president Mahesh Prasad.

BIG TV has set-up a 300-member installation team across North India who have been given specialized training to tackle hilly terrains and inaccessible areas and set-up smoothly functioning DTH connections.

BIG TV recently announced having achieved the magic number of 1 million subscribers within 90 days of its launch to become the fastest growing DTH service in India. BIG TVs growth can be attributed to the fact that they have ensured easy access for customers and an extremely strong sales and after-sales network.
