BIGFlix targets Rs 100 million in ad sales by March 09

MUMBAI: Reliance ADAG’s movie download and rental service BIGFlix.com has completed a year of operations. The company is now targetting Rs 100 million (Rs 10 crores) in ad sales by March 09 for its movie downloads division.

The website, which has touched 50 million page views with three million unique visitors per month in a year, is also eyeing 100 million page views by March 2009.

BIGFlix.com offers free streaming and download to own option on its broadband division – Movie Downloads.

BIGFlix.com COO Kamal Gianchandani said, "BIGFlix.com prescribes an array of choice for every palate and has evolved as an entertainment hub for all age groups providing cutting-edge, world class entertainment, just a click away. The Indian movies download market is on the threshold of a vast expansion and BIGFlix.com aspires to optimally capture the untapped domain by providing flexible and customer-oriented plans and options from time to time."

BIGFlix.com business head, Video on Demand (VoD) Murtuza Kagalwala added, "movies, 100 television shows and other popular Indian content in the Movie Downloads division. With Internet and broadband users growing poised to grow at a fast pace we are confident that we will achieve more 100 million page views by March 2009. We are constantly adding content catering to the audiences in both the international market and the domestic market to achieve a significant market share in this space to provide entertainment content anytime anywhere."

BIGFlix.com also plans to premiere new movies on its website by March. Apart from this, plans are also afoot to develop microsites for movies.
