Bombay distributor lines up multiple releases

MUMBAI: Veteran Bombay distributor Vinod Kakkad has acquired a clutch of Hindi and regional films, and is geared to release them over the next two months.

Kakkad, who had earlier released Bhojpuri film Ganga, featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini, will release two more Bhojpuri films, Purab Aur Paschim on 30 March 2007 and Devaa on 6 April 2007.

Says Kakkad, “I have acquired a few films for good bargains. March and April are going to be hectic. I am releasing Marathi film Asa Mee Kaai Gunha Kela on 23 March 2007 at Prabhat, Pune, which is the main theatre for Marathi films. Then there are two Hindi films in the pipeline too. Dehak is lined up for a 13 April 2007 release, while Aur Pappu Pass Ho Gaya will be released shortly.”
