Creative Eye inks Rs 75 mn deal with Sony

MUMBAI: Sony Entertainment Television has acquired the re-telecast rights of Dheeraj Kumar’s television software company Creative Eye’s three mythological shows, Om Namah Shivay, Shree Ganesh and Jap Tap Vratt for a period of three years.


“These programmes have been acquired for Rs 75 million (Rs 7.5 crore). All three serials have established high ratings in their original run, proving their credentials in terms of popularity. The revenue generated through re-telecast of these programmes will add to our profits of the company in 2006 – 2007 and 2007 – 2008,” says Creative Eye chief operating officer Sunil Gupta.


The company’s executive director D Dass adds, “We have more than 1,000 hours of mythological programming, which can be re-exploited on IPTV, broadband services, mobile services and other allied platforms, which can add substantial revenues to our bottomline.”
