MUMBAI: World Cup frenzy has already spawned a Hindi film, Say Salaam India – Let’s Bring The Cup Home, that’s due for release in early March 2007.
Written and directed by Subhash Kapoor, the film has roped in Lotte India and Reebok to promote it.
Ojas, a student of the school for spastics in Bandra, Mumbai, who has acted in this film, played host to the film’s cast on the occasion of Sports day in his school recently. Sanjay Suri, Sandhya Mridul, Sachin Khedekar and Shradha Nigam, who feature in the film, were present to distribute prizes to the children.
Kapoor says, “It was a pleasure working with Ojas, his ever shining smile was a constant encouragement for all of us.” The film salutes the spirit of the underdog and reflects the spirit of Indian cricket and sportsmanship.
The film was shot in Mumbai and surrounding areas for 30 days in November and December 2006, and stars Sanjay Suri, Sandhya Mridul, Milind Soman, Manoj Pahwa, Sachin Khedekar, Vinay pathak, Shradha Nigam and Ojas.
