Cult film Sholay adapted into theatre play

MUMBAI: Theatre group Saarthi Natya Karmi is working on Sholay’s stage adaptation. The play is being produced by Nandan Dubey and directed by Vicky Mishra, while Rajesh Singh will be playing a very powerful Gabbar Singh.

Singh has done serials like Chacha Chaudhry, Raavan and Brahma Vishnu Mahesh in the past. 

Singh is back to stage acting after seven years. Singh knows that Gabbar’s role is a once in a lifetime role. He says, "By playing Gabbar I am putting myself under a magnifying glass but I am sure it will not disappoint any one."

Sholay produced by Ramesh Sippy starred Sanjeev Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Amzad Khan, Hema Malini and Jaya Bhaduri.
