MUMBAI: Public broadcaster Doordarshan has launched Gitanjali, a programme on the Hindi rendition of select songs of Rabindranath Tagore.

A DVD containing five songs of Tagore was released by the Lok Sabha speaker Somnath Chatterjee.

The programme will be available on the prime band of Doordarshan every Sunday. These songs will also be translated and rendered in Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu shortly.
