MUMBAI: Dibakar Banerjee’s political thriller, which is being produced by PVR Pictures, is all set to release on 26 January, 2012.
The movie’s shooting has been completed in 42 days. Shanghai stars Abhay Deol, Emraan Hashmi, Kalki Koechlin, Prosenjit, Farooque Shaikh and Supriya Pathak.
The film was shot mainly in Latur and Baramati. The release date has been fixed for Republic Day of 2012, which is apt for the release of this roller coaster expose of big money politics and how the common man gets his revenge back.
Banerjee said, “Frankly I have been stunned by the performances from our stars and our character artistes. I can safely say that all preconceived notions that people have about both Abhay and Emraan are going to be shattered by this movie. Similarly, the performances from the senior actors are also among the best in their already glittering characters. I can’t wait to get to the edit table to shape this movie into one that will bring out the best of these performances.”
