MUMBAI: Disney Media Distribution (earlier Disney-ABC International Television) has promoted Amit Malhotra as vice president of program distribution in Asia Pacific.
Malhotra will be in charge of the program distribution sales team and business in the region. He takes over from Greg Johnson, who has decided to leave the company to take up a senior leadership position in the US.
An integral part of the regional media distribution team since 2007, Malhotra has built a significant and successful pan-regional and South East Asia wide business for the organisation.
Malhotra has been with Disney for over six years, having started off India operations for the Walt Disney Company’s TV business in 2004.
Disney Media Distribution (DMD) Asia Pacific senior vice president and managing director Rob Gilby said, “Across Asia Pacific, the Walt Disney Company is highly recognised among our target consumers for our hit feature films, popular scripted and reality shows, live action series and animated kids content. Malhotra’s appointment will enable Disney to build on our success by growing our engagements with existing and new program distribution partners in Asia Pacific, while tapping into exciting new opportunities to deliver the best entertainment experience for our consumers.”
