MUMBAI: Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, India head – marketing Divya Pathak, who resigned from the company a few months back, is slated to join Sony Pictures India as director – marketing.
She is slated to join the company from tomorrow (15 June) and will report to Sony Pictures India managing director Kercy Daruwala.
As was reported earlier today by Businessofcinema.com, Sony Pictures director marketing Bhavesh Thakkar has resigned from the company.
Pathak was with Disney since 2006 and overlooked marketing for the studio’s Hollywood and local film slate.
Prior to Disney, Pathak was with Columbia Films (Sony Pictures Entertainment) from 2000 – 2006, wherein she handled the Disney film slate and Sony Picture’s local and regional movies.
Over the years, in her stints at Disney and Columbia Films, Pathak has devised marketing campaigns for movies like Armageddon, Narnia, the Pirates of the Caribbean series, Toy Story, The Incredibles, A Bugs’ Life, 6 December, Meera Nair’s Monsoon Wedding and Sushmita Sen’s Samay amongst others.
Pathak has also worked in the advertising sector and was with JWT as account director for eight years, handling the Unilever account.
