Eros Pictures signs Rumi Jaffrey to direct next film

MUMBAI: Eros Pictures has signed writer Rumi Jaffrey to direct a film. The script and cast are being finalised for the film currently.

Eros will also be releasing worldwide Rumi’s directorial debut – the Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra starrer God Tussi Great Ho on 15 August 2008.

Eros Pictures vice president Viki Rajani said, "Rumi has established himself as a writer par excellence, especially in the comic genre and we at Eros International are very happy to join hands with him as he now embarks on his directorial journey. We are excited about releasing God Tussi Great Ho, his debut as a director, which promises to be a complete entertainer followed by his film with us."

"I am delighted to be associated with Eros which is one the leading entities in the entertainment arena today and together we hope to present some exciting cinema to Hindi film audiences worldwide," added Jaffrey.

Jaffrey turned director with God Tussi Great Ho, which will be followed by his project with Eros International.

Additionally, as has already been reported by Businessofcinema.com, Jaffrey’s film with Abbas Mastan’s and Vashu Bhagnani co-production venture under the banners Burmawalla Bros and Puja Films titled Life Partner has gone on floors. The film stars Govinda, Fardeen Khan, Tusshar Kapoor, Genelia D’Souza and Prachi Desai
