Ex IAF officer plans mega budget films

MUMBAI: A former Indian Air Force officer turned film producer Samarjit Dasgupta has begun work on two big budget films.

Dasgupta has earlier produced and directed Pyar Ki Dhun, under the banner of Magic Mantra Vision in 2002. The film, which featured Milind Soman, was shot entirely in London.

Says Dasgupta, “The first film was made on a budget of around Rs 45 million (Rs 4.5 crore). The film did not do well but this time I am well versed with the economics of production and distribution. I am making two films on a huge canvas. Talks are on with Sunny Deol to play the lead in one of the films which is in the pre-production stages currently. I  plan to shoot both films at a stretch in the coming winter.”
