EyeQube to initiate biggest recruitment drive

MUMBAI: EyeQube Studios Pvt. Ltd, a joint venture between Eros International Plc and international talent Charles Darby is all set to attract a pool of creative talent to fill in its immediate requirements of more than 250 visual effects artists including animators, designers, matte painters and developers at its upcoming facility in Mumbai within the next two months.

This will be one of the biggest recruitment drives to attract talent in the visual effect industry.

The need for fresh talent arose from the multitude of exciting and big-budget projects bagged by EyeQube (partner to media and entertainment giant Eros International) in recent months, which include the recently launched visual effects driven films Aladin starring Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Ritesh Deshmukh and Drona with Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra.

EyeQube Studios, aiming to revolutionalise the way visual effects works in India, will cater to top-end visual effects requirements in the industry as well as internationally and provide artists a canvas to explore their creativity. With dedicated teams to each project, the artists will go through a “digital boot camp” that takes their natural talent and gives it the luxury of high-end training. EyeQube Studios is being supported by world-class training from renowned international experts in the field. The company will start its first batch in January 2008.

EyeQube, Creative Director and Senior Visual Effects Supervisor, Charles Darby stated, “Almost all VFX facilities in India approach their work from an IT standpoint. Artists are not involved in the creative process and are moved around from project to project, from Film to TV, sometimes even on the same day. EyeQube will depart from these practices and will hone artists to put creativity first.”

“We at EyeQube are making a creative home for all those talented artists who want to produce beautiful and memorable images for some of the grandest films of this century. By training the people in adhering to film-specific production pipelines and having the artists work as teams on shows, we intend to pioneer a new level of quality right here in India. It’s not going to be easy, but ultimately, it’s worth it,” Darby added.

The company is scouting for accomplished persons in the following fields: 3D animation, compositing, feature animation, matte painting and texture, research and development, animatic / previz, roto and paint, story development, production design and art department.
