Bollywood actor Fardeen Khan is the new voice for spreading AIDS awareness. He will feature in a reality television series Haath Ae Haath Mila which is being produced by BBC World Service Trust in association with National Aids Control Organisation. The TV series will tell the story of Shillong-based activist Mrs Hasina Kharbhih who has been working for spreading awareness about AIDS in the North East region.
Fardeen commented “There are 5.1 million Indians suffering from AIDS and more will fall prey to this deadly disease unless there is awareness and education to youngsters on topics like sex, drugs and peer pressure. I am glad that my celebrity status can come to good use.”
