FICCI to hold Global Business Forum at IIFA in Toronto on 24 June

MUMBAI: The 12th edition of the FICCI-IIFA Global Business Forum will be held on 24 June, 2011, at Toronto, Canada.

The Forum, will engage CEOs and business decision makers in a dialogue on diverse aspects of India’s bilateral relationship with Canada. The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Weekend is an effort to promote Indian Cinema globally.

The day long forum will convene a galaxy of speakers representing industry, government, academia and intelligentsia in a candid discussion on the sectors that power Trade, Commerce & Investment, and examine promising areas of cooperation between India and Canada touching upon some sectors such as Media & Entertainment, Education, Tourism and Environment & Clean Technology.

The inaugural session is proposed to be addressed by the Premier of Ontario Dalton McGuinty,  Minister of Economic Development and Trade Sandra Pupatello and Governor General of Canada David Johnston.  Government of India Minister for New & Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah and Minister of Commerce and Industry Anand Sharma, has also been invited in this forum.

On this occasion, FICCI is mounting a high powered CEO level business delegation to Canada to participate in this important event and digital media (animation, gaming, visual effects etc.) is one of the focus sectors for this.
