Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani Named Malaysia International Film Festival Jury Head

Bollywood’s one of the most celebrated filmmakers, Rajkumar Hirani has been named as jury president for this year’s Malaysia Golden Global Awards, which will bring the curtain down on the third edition of the prestigious Malaysia International Film Festival on July 20, 2019.

The director who has given the industry some of the classic projects including the globally acclaimed 3 Idiots, will be on the jury panel alongside South Korean cinematographer Kim Hyung-Koo (Memories of Murder), Hong Kong actress Cecilia Yip (This Thing Called Love), Indonesian director Joko Anwar (Satan’s Slaves) and Malaysian helmer Ho Yuhang (Mrs. K).

With a popularity base for his projects across the borders in Asian markets like China and Malaysia, Hirani is definitely one name who has taken India on the global map for cinema. Receiving accolades for his recent movie ‘Sanju’, Rajkumar has received appreciation from all across the country for the cinema that the director envisioned.

MIFFest was established in the year 2017 with the remit of screening international films to the domestic Malaysian audience while also promoting the country’s rising filmmaking talent and has become a ground where India is leading the list of jury panelists with Rajkumar as the frontrunner.

Being a leading name of the Indian industry, ‘Sanju’ director Hirani has definitely brought more celebration for the filmmakers as a representative at the global stage.
