Habitat Film Club along with the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) and Rudraa Entertainment released two exclusive discs called Master Strokes and which has 20 select film by the masters of Indian cinema. The DVD has a rare collection of the first films of established masters and stars of Indian cinema made during the last five decades.
You can watch the young Jaya Bhaduri in Madan Bavaria’s Suman, Smita Patil in Arun Khopkar’s Teevra Madhyam,Girish Kasaravalli’s Awashesh, Kundan Shah’s Bonga, Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s national award winning student diploma film Murder at Monkey Hill to Kranti Kanade’s Chaitra, Pankaj Purandare’s Dwijaa, A Day With the Builders by C J Paulose (1973), Man Vs. Man by Shashi Anand (1981) and Bodhivriksha by Rajan Khosa (1985) are some other films on the DVD. Habitat Film Club says that is is trying tot thus come out with best-unseen movies with the aid of FTII.
Filmbuffs will now no longer need to go to Pune to the FTII to watch these DVDs. Their favourite films shall be on view for them at their disposal through Master Strokes.
