Google group sales manager Malhotra to join MySpace India

MUMBAI: Google India’ group sales manager Deep Malhotra has been appointed by MySpace India as director sales.

According to sources close to the development Malhotra will be joining the founding team of MySpace India and will be launching News Corp’s social networking site in India shortly.

It may be recalled that Businessofcinema.com was the first to report that MySpace was planning to step foot in India and had appointed Yash Raj Films marketing head Tarun Tripathi as director of marketing and content.

Malhotra was working as the group sales manager at Google India and was part of the company’s founding team since 2005. He was reporting to Google India managing director Shailesh Rao.

Prior to Google, Malhotra worked at Rediff.com in the ad sales team.
