Guild submits representation on piracy to Shabana Azmi

MUMBAI: The Film and Television Producers Guild of India has submitted a representation on piracy and censorship to the Core Group on Piracy (Exhibition Sector including Multiplex and issues of Certification) chairperson Shabana Azmi.


Prominent guild officials were invited to a meeting of the Core Group on 10 January, 2007 at the NFDC Conference Room. Chaired by the noted film actor, the group is among five such groups created by the Information and Broadcasting ministry recently. It comprises eminent personalities from the Indian entertainment industry and aims to focus on the significant problems confronted by it.


Guild treasurer Sushilkumar Agrawal apprised Azmi about the repercussions of piracy and censorship on the functioning of the entertainment industry, who in turn, asked the Guild to deliver its suggestions officially so that action could be taken on them.
