HBO to air award winning movies in February

MUMBAI: This February, HBO will pay a tribute to Academy Award winning movies in HBO Reel Gold, every Sunday night after the 8 pm movie.



Catch the movie which broke the $1 billion box-office mark worldwide, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, on Febuary 4  at 10:30 pm. The final treat of The Lord of the Rings trilogy The Return of the King directed by Peter Jackson – won awards for 11 categories during the 2004 Academy Awards from Best Film to Best Director to Best Visual Effects. The Return of the King is an astounding conclusion of the epic journey of men, hobbits, elves, dwarves, and the rest of middle earth’s creatures and cultures as they wage the ultimate fight for good against evil. Join Frodo (Elijah Wood) and Sam (Sean Astin) in their fight to save the middle earth.


 


The winner of four Academy Awards, Unforgiven will be aired on February 11 at 10:15 pm. It’s the story of a retired gunslinger who takes on one more jobs for the money. The movie stars Clint Eastwood, Gene Hackman and Morgan Freeman.


 


Winner of three Academy Awards, King Kong is the story of a scheming and bankrupt filmmaker Carl Denham (Jack Black) who embarks on a desperate plan to get the studio and the creditors off his back and relies on playwright Jack Driscoll (Adrien Brody) to finish the pages of a half-baked screenplay. The movie will be aired on February 18 at 10 pm.


 


Jamie Foxx in the biopic of a legendary soul and R&B singer Ray Charles in Ray, which is the winner of two Academy Awards, will be aired on February 25 at 10:15 pm.


 

Every Saturday night HBO will bring a brand new movie at 9 pm. Caved In will be aired on February 3, The Constant Gardener on February 10, Serenity on February 17 and Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star on February 24.
