IBF appoints Sanjay Dutt as brand ambassador for boxing

Actor Sanjay Dutt has been appointed as the brand ambassador for boxing by the Indian Boxing Federation (IBF).
IBF president Abhey Singh Chautala made the announcement at a function in Punjab. Chautala said, "Boxing has recently brought laurels to the country in the Beijing Olympics and the sport now needs a well-known brand ambassador to promote it further."
The announcement was made in Dutt’s presence, who had come to witness the ongoing national boxing championship.
Incidentally, Dutt’s late father Sunil Dutt was the Union minister for Sports.
"I have been made brand ambassador of the Indian boxing and I understand that it is a huge responsibility put on me. I promise that in London we will better Beijing’s bronze to win the gold," said Dutt.
