MUMBAI: Music major T-Series has acquired the audio rights of Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision’s forthcoming film Golmaal Returns. Additionally, T-Series has also bought Golmaal’s exclusive copyrights including audio and audio visual songs (in all video formats) and of literary, dramatic and music work which includes ringtones in all formats and all songs as well.
The audio rights of Golmaal earlier vested with Venus Records & Tapes. This is probably the first time that a music label has acquired the audio rights of a film from another company to promote the music of its sequel.
Golmaal Returns, which is scheduled to hit screens on 29 October, 2008, is directed by Rohit Shetty. The film is a sequel to the 2006 film, Golmaal.
Golmaal Returns stars Ajay Devgan, Tusshar Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Kareena Kapoor, Anjana Sukhani, Amrita Arora and Celina Jaitley. The music of the film is by Pritam and lyrics are by Sameer.
T-Series will release a single-CD pack with 15 songs, which will include songs from both films – Golmaal and Golmaal Returns.
